Goleman Quote Reflection
I believe that Goleman was trying to tell us that emotional leadership is just as important, maybe even more important as intellect while in a position of leadership. Emotional intelligence is when someone has an understanding of their emotions and is self-aware f how they will react to different situations. This is so important in the workplace because leaders with emotional leadership are able to react better to hard times and can keep a consistent attitude, even when they are frustrated or bothered. Goleman also tries to get out the point that people can still be leaders with just intellect because there are plenty out there, but to be at the top of a company, you need to have emotional leadership to be successful. One example of just an intellectual leader would be someone who just goes through the motions, doesn't consider moral of the company as important, and isn't aware of how his actions affect others. A leader with emotional leadership is like a captain of a football team. He knows when to inspire his players and get them motivated, he can always get the most out of his players by setting the bar high, and he always knows when to help a teammate out when they are struggling. This is why Goleman believes that emotional leadership is so important.

Myers-Briggs Outcome
The past few classes in our Parish Episcopal leadership class, the class has been working with the Myers-Briggs tool, which helps us find out who we really are. My personality ended up being an ESFP out of the 16 possible outcomes, which according to the test means I am outgoing, friendly, and accepting. Also, I enjoy working with others to make things happen, I bring common sense and a realistic approach to work, and lastly I make work fun. I think the most surprising result of this test for me was definitely the part about how I was outgoing. Even though I don't think in myself in that light, I did realize that I do always end up getting to know new people whenever I am in a social gathering where I might not know everyone. The one thing I already did know about myself that was confirmed by this test was about how I try my best to make work fun. Even though fun sometimes just can't be a part of work, I always try to include it to help me finish the project at hand. I think this test will help me in my pursuit to become a leader because the test shows what might hold ESFP's back while trying to communicate or do work. Hopefully, I can review all of these options in the pamphlet, realize what my flaws are, and make the changes necessary for me to be a good leader in the future.
